Maria Helena Paixão is admitted to the Bar Association OAB/RJ and has been working in the intellectual property area since 2015. Her experience focuses on trademarks, in the administrative level, assisting local and foreign clients in the defense and protection of their trademark rights in Brazil, through legal advice by drafting opinions on the viability of trademarks registrations before the TM Office, opinions on the legality of intellectual property rights and possible infringements of third party rights, drafting of cease and desist letters and consent letters, as well as reviewing contracts involving trademarks and other intellectual property rights. She also has experience in managing worldwide trademark portfolios, as well as in copyright, unfair competition and domain names.
Maria Helena has also published academic articles in leading intellectual property publications, including Revista da Associação Paulista da Propriedade Intelectual – ASPI, LexLatin and Valor Econômico.
Maria Helena has a law degree from Universidade Federal Fluminense – UFF since 2016 and a postgraduation degree in Intellectual Property Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro – PUC/RJ in 2020.
